Company History

In 1997, Theatre Vertigo was founded by Paul Floding, Nanette Pettit and Jeff Meyers. Since then, Theatre Vertigo has performed in numerous spaces including The Russel Street Theater, The Electric Company, Theater Theatre, and in their current home, The Shoebox Theatre.
From 2003 to 2014, Theatre Vertigo produced Anonymous Theatre as a summer fundraiser in collaboration with Anonymous Theatre Company. Other past collaborations include defunkt theatre, Stark Raving Theater, and Tear of Joy Theatre.
Theatre Vertigo has worked on world premieres including Faust.Us by Joseph Fisher, 99 Ways to Fuck a Swan by Kim Rosenstalk, and The End of Sex by Craig Jessen.
In 2016, Theatre Vertigo will produce its first officially commissioned work from a playwright, I Want To Destroy You, by Rob Handel.

    • Drammy Award for Actress in a Supporting Role to Brooke Fletcher, Mother Courage and Her Children.
    • Drammy Award for Sound Design to Richard Moore, The Velvet Sky.
  • 2012
    • Drammy Award for Actor in a Lead Role to Mario Calcagno, The American Pilot.
    • Drammy Award for Sound Design to Em Gustason, The American Pilot.
  • 2010
    • Drammy Award for Supporting Actress to Amy Newman, God’s Ear.
  • 2009
    • Drammy Award for Supporting Actor to Garland Lyons, Romance.
  • 2008
    • Theatre Vertigo collaborates with Tears of Joy Theatre to produce The Long Christmas Ride Home by Paula Vogel and wins a Drammy Award for Outstanding Puppeteering.

    • Drammy Award for Set Design to Ben Plont, Escape from Happiness.
  • 2001
    • Drammy Award for Supporting Actress to Andrea White, Hellcab.
    • Drammy Award for Supporting Actress to Lorraine Bahr, Lion in the Streets.
